GTT: Olympic-Style

I’ve sat here pondering what I would medal in if there was a non-athletic division of the Olympics.
Have decided, clearly my event is not brainstorming.

Sarcasm? Perhaps.

Procrastination? Not lately. Too much at stake.

Best case of teh crazie? Nope, crazy as I may be, there are FAR more interesting nutcases out there.

Drama? Hmm, I might stand a shot, since I seem to have some sort of Drama! magnetic force surrounding me. I swear I don’t see it out, it just kind of follows me.
Financial Drama!, relationshipal Drama!, family Drama!, school Drama!….
But I’m not very good at creating the drama, nor do I always excel at handling the Drama! with grace and good humour. But, damn, I sure can attract it.

So Drama! is a possibility. What else?
Oh, snap. I know. If reading was an Olympic event, I’d totally go Gold. I once finished “Gone with the Wind” in 2.5 days. And none of that sneaky speed reading either. I devour every word.
Trashy romance novel? Give me an evening, I’ll be done by bedtime.
I’m the perfect person to lend your books too, because you know I’ll be done with it by the end of the week. There’s little to no chance I’ll forget to return it.

So there you go. If they ever host a Nerd Olympics, I’ll totally kick ass in the Reading division.

What would you medal in, if non-physical events were part of the Olympics? Leave your answer in the comments, or write your own post and join in!

I think I could be a contender in your sport. I can get through a book in a few hours also. My MIL was a member of a book club, she used to have me wait for her to finish the new ones before I’d be allowed to read them. Then I started sneaking them off at night, finish it and put it back. She never knew.

    EEK!
    Great post though!

I like reading, but I definitely don’t devour books. I’m the one who takes forever to get a book back to someone. So I’ve stopped borrowing books from other people. hee hee!

Used to be quick at reading, but now it puts me to sleep. It’s maddening! I want to finish books quickly, because I love to read. Sigh. Maybe when I stop nursing babies all night long, my reading eyes will come back. :)
