Did something spectacular happen to you this week? Did you have a brief, if tiny, moment of happiness? If you’d like to share, visit Band Back Together and link up with us for this weeks Dose of Happy!
My happy moment this week wasn’t big, huge, omg-worthy news.
But I was still thrilled with it.
See, there are TWO video games coming out this next week. Call of Duty has another one coming out (Modern Warfare 3) and Elder Scrolls has one coming out (Skyrim). I play the Elder Scrolls series and the husband plays the Call of Duty series.
But.
Video games are expensive. Definitely not in the budget.
As we looked around, it occurred to us that we have quite a few video games that we play rarely, if at all. So we loaded them all up and took them in to trade them in. Now, you don’t really get much for used video games at the video game store. Normally.
But we got lucky. They were running a promotion where you got 30% more if you were putting it towards an upcoming release. And we have a membership card, so we got another 10% more.
Altogether? We had enough in store credit to pay off both games.
I know this isn’t a big, huge deal. And video games are certainly not a need.
But then, that’s why I’m happy it worked out this way. Because if I had to pay out actual cash for these video games? It wouldn’t have happened.
My geek heart is happy:)
