Vulgarity of Everyday Life

A sink full of soapy water and dirty dishes waits for me. I tend to put it off as long as possible.

I’m not one of those who finds joy in the vulgar chores of everyday life.

There’s so much more I’d rather be doing.

Like napping. Or reading. Or writing. Or…you get the idea.

But the necessity of these routine chores; the dishes, the laundry, the toilet scrubbing…is not lost on me.

And so I submit, begrudgingly, to having my time and energy sucked away into the vortex of housework.

This post was written for Week 17 of the Trifecta Writing Challenge. This week’s word was vulgar.

I always feel they are such a waste of time, too. :P

I’m so not in love with chores. I’d do more of them if I didn’t feel like I was, in my husband’s words (which are not original) merely rearranging deck chairs on the titanic.

It’s like an angry jailer preventing you from what you want to do.

    Very well written.

    Chores.  Who needs ‘em?

  • OriginalWacky

Oh yuck, chores. If I ever win the lottery, I’m totally hiring a maid to do that stuff. Then I’ll be on of those people who straightens up before the maid gets there so it doesn’t look too messy. Bwahaha!

This is perfection. I feel the same way about visiting my mother. The only thing saving tomorrow is that we are using a Mini from the Car Co-op for the journey … each way is about an hour.

But seriously, this is perfection. And my mother is vulgar. *grin*

    You nailed that.
    Chores are a bore.
