Dose of Happy: The Husband
Monday, April 2nd, 2012My dose of happy this week isn’t really all my own.
But at the same time, it is.
See, my husband is working (which is a dose of happy all on it’s own) and going to school. This means he’s gone six days out of the week. Since he started in February, he’s been home all of, oh, 8? 9? days now.
But he also has The List. You know The List, you probably have your own. It’s full of things that NEED to be done. Vehicle repairs that need to be made, household things that need to be fixed, and in our case, baby stuff to be set-up. The list never really ends, it just goes on and on.
So my dose of happy this week, and last, was when my stressed out, over-worked husband put his foot down and said, “Enough!” to The List. Oh, he still got things done off of it, but just a couple. And then he spent the rest of that one day off last week, and that one day off this week, doing things like going to the park with the kids, and taking them for bike rides. He even managed to squeeze in a (short) boat outing.
I’m claiming it as MY dose of happy (although I’m sure it was his, too.) because it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy to see the kids get all excited about Doing Things with Daddy, even if they aren’t theme-park and huge-trip things.
Also, I got to take a nap while they were gone.
If you have a dose of happy to share, head over to bandbacktogether.com and link up, or leave your happy in the comments!
PS I also have a post that I wrote about Postpartum Depression (and why I choose to share my PPD story) being shared on BandBackTogether.com today. I’d love it if you headed over and checked it out.
