A sink full of soapy water and dirty dishes waits for me. I tend to put it off as long as possible.

I’m not one of those who finds joy in the vulgar chores of everyday life.

There’s so much more I’d rather be doing.

Like napping. Or reading. Or writing. Or…you get the idea.

But the necessity of these routine chores; the dishes, the laundry, the toilet scrubbing…is not lost on me.

And so I submit, begrudgingly, to having my time and energy sucked away into the vortex of housework.
